NEXT GRDENING MEETING. TUESDAY 25th August. 2pm
This is a visit and tour of a garden in Walton, on land with an interesting history of being on a site of a previous soap and chemical works. The owner an author of a book on the life of Charles Waterton (1782-1865) will also talk about his life and his home the nearby Waterton hall. If interested contact Sue Wilson above
You don’t have to have a big garden or be an active gardener to be a member, just a love and appreciation of plants, green spaces and beautiful gardens.

During the summer our aim is to get out and about visiting gardens, parks, speciality growers and community gardens.
In Winter and Spring we meet in Skelmanthorpe Methodist Chapel where we have garden themed speakers and demonstrations.
Twice a year, Spring and Autumn we have plant sales from member’s surplus plants to raise extra funds for the group. This year we used the surplus money to pay for tea and scones for everyone who came to Wortley Hall gardens.
If we visit gardens out of our local area we utilise car sharing, and if there is a demand can arrange a minibus at cost price.

We encourage our members to pass on ideas for new visits and hold a planning meeting in January where together we discuss ideas for the new year diary.
